Marriage Guidelines for Couples wishing to be married in the Catholic Church

Engaged couples wishing to be married in the Catholic Church must contact their parish priest or deacon at least six months prior to the anticipated wedding date.  It is recommended that you make contact at the very beginning of your engagement.

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

The priest/deacon who is preparing you for marriage will assist you in obtaining these documents.  The documents are as follows:

• Baptismal Certificate(s).  (The Catholic Certificate is to be a acquired within the last six month)

• Two letters of Freedom for each of you  (Forms are available at the parish)

• The Pre-Nuptial Inquiry questions regarding your freedom to marry and your views on Christian marriage.

• State of California Marriage License (Unless this license is present, no wedding can occur),

• Confirmation Certificate(s) Catholics who have not yet received the sacrament of Confirmation are to receive it before being married, if this does not cause serious inconvenience.

 

REQUIRED MARRIAGE PREPARATION PROGRAMS

You will be required to attend at the Archdiocesan approved marriage preparation programs.  Participation is to be completed no later than three months before the wedding date.  The priest/deacon who is preparing you for marriage will provide you with information regarding the program he wishes you to attend.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF ST. ANTHONY CHURCH

• Meeting with Wedding Coordinator.  Every couple must attend one meeting with the Wedding Coordinator to explain our procedures regarding the wedding ceremony, music, photography, flowers, fees, parking, and rehearsal.  Couples will be given all guidelines with regard to each of these and a chance to ask questions.

• Meeting with Liturgy Director.  Every couple must meet with the Liturgy Director to receive the wedding ceremony planning book and to discuss the ceremony.   Questions with regard to appropriate music and ceremony will be discussed at this time.

 

Decorum in the House of God

Because we revere the place in which the community of the Church gathers for worship, we ask that all your friends and relatives, particularly the wedding party, be aware of the sacredness of the Church building.  In each Catholic Church there is reserved the Sacrament of the Lord in the Tabernacle so that the Eucharist can be taken to the sick and worshipped in prayer.  For theses reasons, we ask that all who enter the Church at any time, whether before, during, or after the rehearsal or during the wedding celebration itself, observe these basic principals:

• Show respect and reverence at all times while in the Church.

• No food, drink, or chewing gum allowed in the Church.

• Parishioners:  $1200.00
• Non Parishioners:  $1500.00

The following fees are included in your package:

• Wedding Coordinator Fee
• Church Fee
• Altar Servers Fee
• Priest Stipend
• Musician
• 2 Flower Arrangements for the altar
• Cleaning Fee

 

A deposit of $500.00 is required to separate the church date.  Anyone for whom the Wedding Package would present a difficulty is asked to speak directly with the priest.

 

THE THROWING OF RICE, CONFETTI, BIRDSEED OR ANY OTHER SUCH ITEMS AND ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES.

Guía de la Arquidiócesis de los Ángeles para parejas

que desean casarse en la Iglesia Católica

 

Las parejas comprometidas que desean contraer matrimonio en la Iglesia Católica necesitan ponerse en contacto con el sacerdote por lo menos seis meses antes de la fecha de su boda.  Es recomendable que ellos se pongan en contacto desde el principio de su compromiso matrimonial.

 

DOCUMENTOS REQUERIDOS:

El sacerdote que está preparándolos para el matrimonio los ayudara a obtener los siguientes documentos:

• Certificado(s) de Bautismo: El certificado de bautizo deberá ser adquirido en los últimos seis meses.

• Cuestionario para Testigos: (se necesitan dos por cada uno) Los cuestionarios pueden ser adquiridos en la parroquia.

• Cuestionario Prenupcial: Preguntas respecto a su libertad para casarse y su perspectiva acerca del matrimonio Cristiano.

• Licencia de Matrimonio del Estado de California: La boda no podrá llevarse a cabo si esta licencia no se presenta.

• Certificado(s) de Confirmación: Si se puede celebrar sin serias inconveniencias.  Los Católicos que todavía no han recibido el sacramento de confirmación deberían de recibirlo antes de ser admitidos al matrimonio.

 

PROGRAMAS REQUERIDOS DE PREPARACION PRE-MATRIMONIAL:

Se les pedirá que asistan a uno de los programas de preparación pre-matrimonial aprobados por la Arquidiócesis.  La participación en uno de estos programas debe de ser completada tres meses antes de la boda.  El padre/diácono que este preparándolos para su matrimonio, les proveerá más información con respecto al programa que él desea que asistan.

 

REQUISITOS ADICIONALES PARA LA BODA

• Reunión para Información de Boda.  Cada pareja tiene que atender una reunión con la coordinadora de boda para explicar los procedimientos de la ceremonia matrimonial, música, fotografía, flores, honorarios, estacionamiento (parking) y ensayo.  Las parejas recibirán todas las guías para cada uno de estos detalles y la oportunidad de hacer preguntas.

• Reunión con el Director de Liturgia.  Cada pareja deberá hacer una cita con el Director de Liturgia para recibir el libro de planificación de la ceremonia nupcial y para discutir la ceremonia.  Las preguntas con respecto a la música y ceremonia se discutirán en este momento.

Decoro en la Casa de Dios

Porque respetamos el lugar donde la comunidad se reúne para venerar a Dios, les rogamos que todos sus amigos y parientes, en particular el cortejo nupcial estén conscientes de la Iglesia, y  de su santidad.  En cada Iglesia Católica se reserva el Sacramento del Señor en el tabernáculo,  para facilitar que la Eucaristía pueda ser llevada a los enfermos y adorara en el rezo.  Por estas razones pedimos que al entrar a la Iglesia, ya sea antes, durante o después del ensayo durante la celebración de la Boda, observen estos principios básicos:

• Demostrar respecto y reverencia todo el tiempo en la Iglesia.

• No se permite en la Iglesia comida, bebidas o chicle.

 

INFORMACION IMPORTANTE SOBRE LOS HONORARIOS:

Feligreses:  $1200.00

No Feligreses:  $1500.00

Deposito del honorario para la Iglesia:  $500 para asegurar la fecha de su boda.

El restante del monto de honorarios se tiene que pagar un mes antes de la boda.  Estos incluyen:

Honorario para el Sacerdote

Honorario para el Músico

Honorario para la Coordinadora de Bodas              

Ayudante para el altar (Acólitos, si es necesario) 

Honorario para la Iglesia  

Honorario para la Limpieza

Dos arreglos Florales para el Altar
